Top 3 Summer Smoothies to Nourish You All Season Long

Updated: Jul 19

3 Girls Jumping into Lake for Summer

Happy “official” first day of Summer! June 21st is always such a fun day to welcome the Summer Solstice and for many this year, it’s not just a Full Moon Friday, but the last day of school. The best way to kick off this season is with a yummy and delicious smoothie, or three.

I often prescribe smoothies in my clinical practice for added calories, protein, fiber, and fluids. I also recommend some for detoxing the body of various toxins including heavy metals. Some people enjoy the juices of vegetables vs the full effects that include the pulp aka fiber. Regardless of the path of getting these added nutrients in through sipping, smoothies can make an excellent option for people on-the-go, replenishing after an intense workout, and those needing a quick boost of nutrients.

Some are greener than others and can take a bit to get used to. I’m going to provide three beautiful smoothie options and you can goldilocks them all you like. There are sweeter versions and some with a bite. Over the years, I’ve started to enjoy the less sweet options. My constant recommendation is to add some protein and fat to help decrease the sugar rush and make these calories count to support your body and maintain my food motto of being worthy enough to be in your body. If you can, please choose organic and wash your produce really well to help rid any waxes, pesticides, fungicides, bugs off your edibles and make it less taxing on your body to digest the toxins and absorb the nutrients so you feel full, energized, and powerful.

If you want some additional tips on creating your special smoothie, ways to support your specific nutritional needs and goals, please connect with me. I’d love to work with you and help you to  love your body!
