Hey, who is Health Crush?


Hello beautiful humans! Hello to you wanting to gain some food knowledge, inspiration, dial up some wholesome living, and getting just a bit better with each bite!


So, I finally did it. I finally put my dietitian brain (as best I can) and merged it with my creative brain and the results are this little project. But...guess what...there is a human being on the other end of this, so please, please give me grace as I navigate this food blog world! I’m old school, I love talking to people and I continue to use a handwritten yearly planner (but, I also have my iPhone calendar too). I also love taking photos with fancy equipment and listening to music via the Sonos speaker and my Spotify account, so, maybe I'm old school meets modern tech luxuries that make little things that much easier!


So enough about that and let’s focus on you! What brought you and your appetite to my website?! It’s probably the flirting and the flavors your tongue craves with every indulgent recipe that benefits YOU! I get it, I come here ALL THE TIME! I’m SO excited you decided to join me on this journey as I share a bit of me, my love for healthy living, as I try to do it with a little humor and entertainment.


Registered Dietitian with a Crush on Health


I’m a Registered Dietitian (yes, not just a nutritionist, but a dietitian. That means I have a degree and credential to back up my brain)! I’ve worked in various dietetic roles throughout my career, but a lot of it has been spent in clinical settings like skilled nursing facilities and hospitals. This has led me to truly understand what nutrition does to the body...meaning, yep...you are what you eat! So, if you eat a lot of garlic and onions, yeah, you’re going to be quite stinky but hey, along with keeping the vampires at bay, you're stimulating your immune system and keeping your respiratory system healthy as well. These are a few of the things we'll dive into on this journey...what foods do what for you!


I focus on a holistic approach. To me, I have always professed that you can eat healthy and have your slice of cake too! You just need to be mindful of what you are eating and how you are living. So focusing on that approach really means healthy living is about feeding the body, mind, and soul. It’s my theme, my theme for both my career and life path. I really tried to infuse that sentiment in this website and into all the recipes and advice I offer.


That being said, these are my recipes, my heart and soul went into everything I’ve created here. I know, it won’t be the first place you’ve ever seen something like the recipes here, but I really try and create recipes that I both professionally and personally align with. I get inspired by food, by flavors, and by cravings. Some things are going to taste great to you, some are going to give you growing pains, and some you may also want to adapt and change to your liking.


My biggest influencers are each and every one of you, as well as my family, Martha Stewart (I cannot wait to be BFF’s with you…) and God. So, I listen, I hear you and I want to make your time here on this amazing blue and green planet worth living by eating well and enjoying every bite you take...and hey, if it just doesn’t taste good, it’s literally not worth the calories!


Being a Registered Dietitian and coming from amazing parents who were all about education, I do that, I want to educate, inspire, and provide advice to you and your life path. I founded Health-Crush with a mission to heal the body, mind, and soul with wholesome, flavorful and delicious living. So, join me as we indulge along this journey!
