GRANOLA

Buying granola is pricey and the ingredients are questionable. Here's a simple and easy solution that your kids or grandkids (or, grandparents 😏) can help make and the results are healthy snacks or meals to last you maybe a few weeks before a new batch is made. You can add some variations such as dried fruits, chocolate chips, or even dried coconut flakes to add after baking to mix up the granola.

Adding granola to yogurts, hot cereals, or eating plain are great options to enjoy the ingredients, flavors, and health benefits of this tasty and affordable dish.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups Oat, Old-Fashioned

  • 1 cup Almonds, chopped

  • 2 Tablespoons Chia Seeds

  • 1 Tablespoon Flaxseed

  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

  •  ½ teaspoon salt, sea

  • ½ cup Coconut Oil, melted

  • ½ cup Honey or Agave Syrup

PREPARATION

  1. Heat oven for 350 degree F

  2. In a medium size bowl, mix together the oats, almonds, chia seeds, flaxseeds, cinnamon and salt

  3. Add melted coconut oil and mix well

  4. Add sweetener of choice (honey or agave) and mix well

  5. Place parchment paper onto baking sheet

  6. Spread the granola evenly on the baking sheet

  7. Bake for 20 minutes

  8. Remove from oven and cool for 40 minutes

  9. Break-up granola, store in air-tight container

  10. Granola can last for 2-4 weeks, depending on storage

  11. Enjoy!
