BANANA BARK
This is such a sweet and simple treat, and works super well when maybe you haven't eaten those bananas quite in time. It is also a nice transition for limiting your "treats" and supporting the heart healthy benefits of virtually all the ingredients in this recipe.
Keeping them frozen makes it a little easier to not eat the entire batch. You can add extras if you like, but I think you're going to love this healthy bark without the...
pooch (woof woof). 😉
PREPARATION
-
Place parchment paper onto baking sheet (small enough to fit into freezer shelf)
-
Slice bananas about ¼ inch thick
-
Thinly spread peanut butter on top of bananas
-
Sprinkle flaxseed over this
-
Freeze for 1 hour or until desired effect (hardened to continue to next step)
-
Place chocolate chips into microwave safe container (glass jar or place on double boiler and add coconut oil until melted and mixed) If using microwave, place parchment paper over bowl and heat on half speed for 20 second intervals
-
Remove and add coconut oil, stir until mixed well
-
Spread mixture evenly onto frozen ingredients
-
Place back into freezer for 1 hour or until desired effect
-
Remove and cut into serving sizes. Place back in freezer inside freezer safe container until ready to eat
-
Enjoy!
